المردود الاقتصادي لمزارع انتاج محصول القطن في محافظة بغداد للموسم الزراعي (2009)
Abstract
Cotton as an agricultural industrial crop occupied an important role in world economy. It played an active role in foreign trade. It is considered one of the main fiber crops and it use in textile industry,paper industry,cellulose and some chemical materials,cooking oil is also extracted from cotton seeds and the wastes are used for animal feeding .
The aim of this paper is to calculate the economic feasibility for cotton production in Baghdad province. A questionnaire was designed to collect data from a random sample of (31) farmers in Mahmoodiah district of Baghdad province. The results showed that areas between (5-25) donums achieved economic profits while areas between (2-4) donums were under loss. The results also showed that fixed costs consist about 43% of total costs while variable costs consist about 57% of total costs,some recommendations were forwarded .
