Abstract
This study aims to investigate the current status of the business incubators in Jordan, and their role in the development and support of entrepreneurial enterprises and their contribution to national economic growth. This support appears in administrative and technical services to entrepreneurial enterprises, as well as clear strategic vision, managerial abilities, and incubation strategies. Another support is that business incubators act as an intermediate for (government, companies, financial institutes, universities and R & D), to get their support to entrepreneurial enterprises benefit, which at the end results in increasing growth, generating income, and creating jobs.
The study population was the Jordanian Business Incubators, managers of graduate entrepreneurial enterprises, tenants managers and managers of enterprises that did not enter business incubators. The unit of analysis was the managers of graduate enterprises and tenants. The data of the study were collected through a sample that consisted of (69) managers. However, (58) questionnaires were distributed to the graduate and tenant enterprises managers. The study findings indicate there was a statistically significant effect of the services (administrative and technical) on entrepreneurial enterprises success in terms of growth, income and creating jobs. Also there was a statistically significant effect of the vision (strategic vision, strategic leadership, and incubation strategy) on entrepreneurial enterprises success in terms of growth, income and creating jobs. The study recommended the need to streamline the organizational, legal, managerial, financial and operational aspects of the incubation program in order to ensure effective realization of the overall objectives of promoting small entrepreneurial enterprises development in Jordan. Also establishing an association for business incubators to support business incubators in Jordan.
