Population growth is an important economic indicator that contributes to determining the economic policies of decision-makers. Changes in the population growth rate impact the state's financial aspects, particularly financial expenditures. However, increases in public expenditures may be the driving force behind population growth. The study sought to determine the degree of this impact. The study revealed a relationship between public expenditure growth and population growth. This requires the government to continue diversifying the Iraqi economy to ensure the expansion of public revenues to cover the growing public expenditures resulting from population growth. This requires improving health, education, and social services, i.e., improving the quality of life, ensuring a balanced population growth rate, in accordance with government policy and priorities in light of global changes. This also emphasizes the exploitation and development of population wealth, making it a catalyst for economic growth.
