The impact of information technology in enhancing competitive advantage - a survey study in some private banks

This research aims to identify the impact of information technology on achieving competitive advantage. The study population consisted of 70 questionnaires, and the variables were coded and entered into the SPSS statistical program to analyze the research data under study. It was found that there is a correlation between information technology and competitive advantage, as the dimensions of information technology significantly affect competitive advantage. The study sample was from some private banks in the Baghdad Governorate. The study concluded that information technology is influential and essential in improving competitive advantage. The research reached a set of recommendations, including diversifying information technology by studying the market, identifying customers’ wants and needs, and keeping pace with technological development in the banking field.
